MG SV-R

The brutal SV-R marks MG's clear intention to gain a foothold in the lucrative supercar end of the market. Spawned from the Qvale Mangusta (bought out by MG in 2001) and first shown as the X80 concept, the Sport Veloce has been aggressively re-styled by McLaren F1 designer Peter Stevens.
The looks are more than matched by the performance. Several power outputs are available from the Sean Hyland prepared Ford V8, ranging from 385bhp up to the insane 965bhp factory approved nitrous oxide system! To cope with the possible outcome of such enormous power, the SV-R comes complete with an FIA approved roll cage.

The SV-R's future is in the balance after the collapse of Rover in 2005. The signs are not encouraging though, as unsold new examples are fetching just £45k, almost half the original sticker price.
