Americas biggest selling truck got the supercar treatment in form of the
F150 Lightning. A supercharged 5.4L V8 pushed out almost 400bhp to give
near supercar levels of acceleration, and all of this from a practical,
workhorse truck. So performance in a straight line was impressive, but
thanks to an old-fashioned setup consisting of a live axle and
recirculating ball steering, handling was predictably truck-like.
Nevertheless, for practical performance and an amazing £30,000 price tag, the F150 was hard to beat.
