The De Tomaso Guara may have been in production since 1993 but fewer
than 100 have been produced during the last decade, with just 4 resident
in the UK. The Guara is offered as both a coupe and convertible
(Barchetta), each powered by an identical 305bhp Ford V8. Performance
from both models is brisk but the 350kg weight saving offered by the
Barchetta provides even greater acceleration (if you can live without a
heater or a windscreen!).
The Guara may not have the charisma of
it's famous ancestor the Pantera but it is certainly a sportscar worthy
of note in it's own right with the benefit of rarity on it's side.
