Ferrari California

Ferrari California

Recalling the name of the classic 250 California from the 50's, the new California is not pitched as an all out sports car but as 2+2 GT, with the added advantage of an automated retractable roof. Nevertheless, handling is every bit the equal of it's sporting peers thanks to multi-link suspension and a mid-front engined layout. Talking of which, the California's direct injection V8 produces 458bhp for a 12 second standing quarter mile time and 193mph maximum speed. As in the stunning new 458, the California sports Ferrari's new 7-speed dual clutch transmission with F1-Trac for lightning fast shifts.
The California goes on sale late 2009 at a retail price of around £140k. Small price to pay for a Ferrari that covers all the bases from supercar to comfortable cross-continent cruiser.
