Mazda RX-8

The RX-8 is the latest in a long line of Mazda rotary engined sports cars. In a change from the previous generation RX-7, the Wankel rotary engine (codenamed Renesis) is now normally aspirated rather than turbocharged. Nevertheless, it is actually up on power compared to it's predecessor with over 250bhp on tap.
Appearance is more mainstream than the RX-7 but the RX-8 retains many innovative design features carried over from the showcar prototype, in particular the unique backward opening 'suicide' rear doors! Steering is precise and ride quality a definite improvement over it's predecessors.

Target price is around the £25k mark in the UK, with a less powerful version set to come in under £20 - incredible value for money.
