The Elise resemblance becomes clear
when you consider that Lotus have been charged with assembling the
Roadster. A modified Elise chassis constructed in Aluminium forms the
base, with lightweight carbon fibre bodywork outside. Unfortunately this
light weight is offset by the 430kg weight of 7000 batteries, necessary
for the Tesla's impressive 250 mile range.
